How to set up your weekly planner

Your Rutimo weekly planner is ready in four steps: print, cut, attach, and get started.

Step by step

1

Print

Print the activity cards first, then the weekly planner. In your print settings, choose "Actual size" or set the scale to 100%, not "Fit to page".

Tip: Standard 80 g/m² paper works fine. For more sturdiness, use 160 g/m² card stock.

2

Cut out

Cut out the activity cards along the lines. A paper trimmer is faster and cleaner than scissors.

Tip: Stack a few sheets and cut them together to save time.

3

Attach

Put velcro dots or magnets on the cards and the weekly planner. Soft side on the card, rough side on the planner.

Tip: Round velcro dots (Ø 13-15 mm) fit well on the activity cards.

4

Get started together

Sunday evening works well for setting up the cards for the new week with your child. Kids who help plan often stick to the routine better.

Tip: Start with 3 to 5 fixed activities per day and add more if you need to.

Tips for everyday use

Laminate so it lasts

Laminated planners and cards survive sticky fingers. Add velcro dots after laminating.

Let your child help plan

Let your child choose and place the cards. That builds independence, and the routine is more likely to stick.

A Sunday ritual

Turn setting up the weekly planner into a regular ritual, for example every Sunday after breakfast.

Less is more

A few fixed cards that actually happen beat a packed plan that frustrates everyone. You can always add more later.

Hang it at kid height

Hang the planner where your child can see it, not only where adults look. Then it gets used.

Keep fixed blocks in the same spot

Put recurring activities, like morning and evening, in the same place each time. Familiarity builds faster that way.
